Job Title: AI Voice & Automation Specialist (GoHighLevel + VAPI) Overview: We are an AI automation agency focused on helping service-based businesses (primarily insurance agencies) capture, qualify, and convert leads using advanced AI systems. We are looking for an experienced AI Voice & Automation Specialist who can build and deploy intelligent voice receptionists, chatbots, and multichannel communication systems inside GoHighLevel (GHL), integrated with VAPI or similar tools. This role is for someone who can go beyond basic setups and build high-performing, human-like AI systems that can handle real business conversations, book appointments, and manage lead flow efficiently.
You will be responsible for building two core systems: * System 1: AI Receptionist using GoHighLevel native AI * System 2: Advanced AI Voice + Chat System using Vapi integrated into GoHighLevel
Key Responsibilities: * Build and deploy AI voice receptionists using GoHighLevel (GHL) and VAPI * Integrate VAPI into GHL workflows, pipelines, and CRM systems * Develop advanced conversational flows and complex prompt engineering for realistic AI interactions * Create AI systems that can: * Answer inbound calls within seconds * Qualify leads based on custom criteria * Handle objections and FAQs * Book appointments directly into calendars * Build and optimize chatbots for multichannel inbox, including: * SMS * Website chat widgets * Facebook Messenger / Instagram (if applicable) * Design conversation logic that adapts dynamically based on user responses * Ensure seamless handoff between AI and human agents when needed * Test, troubleshoot, and continuously optimize AI performance * Document workflows and system architecture for internal use
Required Skills & Experience: * Proven experience with GoHighLevel (GHL) automation and CRM systems * Hands-on experience with VAPI (or similar AI voice platforms) * Strong background in prompt engineering for conversational AI * Experience building AI voice agents that sound natural and handle real-world scenarios * Knowledge of API integrations, webhooks, and automation logic * Experience with chatbot development for SMS and web chat * Ability to map out and implement complex conversational flows
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with agencies or lead generation systems * Familiarity with sales processes (especially appointment setting) * Understanding of insurance or local service business workflows * Experience improving AI conversion rates (not just building systems)
What Success Looks Like: * AI answers calls within 30–60 seconds and engages naturally * Leads are qualified and booked automatically with minimal errors * Chatbots respond intelligently across multiple channels * Systems reduce missed opportunities and increase booked appointments * Continuous improvements in conversation quality and conversion rates
Project Scope / Engagement: * Freelance or contract (with potential for long-term work) * Opportunity for ongoing work as we scale
