I hope you are well. I'm currently working on a low-budget film. The film's theme explores prejudice and bravery. The story is set in Kuwait. However, I need a P.O.V. montage sequence showcasing the character's previous life in the United Kingdom. I have a list of shots that need to be filmed (some require actors, others do not). The total amount of scenes are 25. Each scene consists of ONE camera setup, shot in p.o.v. handheld.
My story follows Ahmed, a ten-year-old boy from Kuwait. Ahmed and his mother have arrived in the UK to study. Ahmed befriends Matthew, an English youngster. The two boys became best friends.
Towards the end of the montage scene, Ahmed encounters racism. As a result, the montage has contrast; it begins with lots of enjoyment, sight-seeing, and meeting nice people. However, in the conclusion, it goes dark.
The montage sequence requires access to three actors.
1. British boy (11 years old) to portray MATTHEW (for a limited number of scenes). 2. A British lady (45 years old) will play MATTHEW'S MOTHER in a few scenes. 3. A British man (50 years old) will play RACIST MAN (for one scene).
4. In terms of Ahmed's house location, I'm looking for something that resembles an apartment or a modest house. There is a scene where the family arrives at their house. And it must at least appear empty.
Please keep in mind that each scene is shot with a single camera setup. It's all point-of-view; the camera must move to reflect how AHMED sees the world. So no sudden movements to make people dizzy. The filming style will be HANDHELD. Quick and easy. The frame needs to be controlled and handled with care. I will provide storyboards that will guide you.
I planned the camera setups to be simple and straightforward. I only need a cameraman to execute all shots exactly as I plan them (of course, I am flexible).
Regarding the sort of camera. I won't be too picky about this section, as long as the footage is 4K and the lighting is excellent. I'd love it if the camera was cinematic, that way it would really help in colour correction and grade.
If you're INTERESTED, before I HIRE you as the camera man (or crew) I would need SAMPLE footage of a couple of scenes , this will help me tremendously in selecting the correct applicate.
