I have lived in a London housing co-operative for 33 years. It's a housing association where tenants take voluntary committee roles to do work to keep rents low. With my construction expertise I became Maintenance Co-ordinator. I collected lots of evidence of corruption, all except actual backhand payments. I filed an internal whistleblowing complaint, for which I was struck off the committee a year ago. I have no legal whistleblowing rights, as I was voluntary. But I still care about the ultimate bankruptcy that threatens my home. Government agencies like the police & Housing Ombudsman aren't interested in my case, nor in anything for that matter
AI says I can apply for a court order to define certain parameters in which the co-op must operate to prevent insolvency, under the Insolvency Act (Section 423). I approached a few law firms in both insolvency & housing fields, but they don't want to take a case that doesn't fit exactly into a box
As a professional temp worker, I'm not eligible for legal aid. But as a tenant I don't care to spend huge money fighting for a home I don't own. I have the evidence & know the history, but need some legal help
