We are seeking an experienced data scraping developer to create and maintain a robust scraping solution that collects car listings from a specified source website and automatically imports them into our WordPress site.
The script must accurately match scraped data to the corresponding fields in WordPress, run on demand, and ensure our site stays synchronized by removing any listings deleted from the source.
After the initial implementation, we would like to establish a long-term working relationship for continued site maintenance and development support.
Key Responsibilities: Develop a reliable, scalable scraping solution for extracting car listings and associated data. Map and import data seamlessly into WordPress custom fields or relevant database structures. Implement synchronization logic to remove outdated or deleted listings from our site. Maintain, troubleshoot, and refine the scraping system as needed. Assist with ongoing WordPress updates, plugin management, and improvements.
Required Experience: Proven track record in data scraping and automation, preferably with large or dynamic websites. Strong skills with Python (BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, or similar frameworks). Experience integrating scraped data into WordPress using APIs, custom fields, or wp-import tools. Proficiency in handling data cleaning, validation, and synchronization processes. Understanding of best practices to avoid IP blocking, rate limits, and scraping disruptions. Excellent attention to detail and coding standards.
