The language should feel lively and age-appropriate while preserving the flavour of traditional Brazilian customs—festas juninas, folkloric creatures, regional foods, and similar references must stay intact rather than being “neutralised.”
To make sure the cultural context remains accessible, please retain original terms when they carry a unique Brazilian sense and add a brief parenthetical or footnote explanation only when the meaning might confuse a Spanish-speaking child.
Deliverables: • A polished Spanish translation of each story in an editable document (Word or Google Docs) • A short glossary of any maintained Portuguese terms or cultural notes included in the stories
I’m aiming for a voice that feels natural to young Spanish readers yet still transports them to Brazil with every page. If you’ve handled children’s literature or culturally rich translations before, I’d love to see a sample.
