Design Brief – Large Canvas Family Tree Project Overview
We require the design of a large-format family tree containing over 500 names. The tree must be visually impactful, easy to read, and suitable for large-scale print/display. The names should be presented in Arabic/Urdu script with corresponding English names side by side, following the style of our previous family tree design created in Adobe Illustrator.
Key Requirements Format & Software Designed in Adobe Illustrator (vector format for scalability). Final deliverables in .AI, PDF, and high-resolution PNG/JPEG. The tree should be designed for large canvas printing (approx. A0 size or larger).
Design Style Must match the previous family tree style we have used (clean, professional, and elegant). Use Arabic/Urdu script alongside English names consistently. Ensure a clear hierarchy between generations (e.g., ancestors at the top/root flowing downward). A balance of ornamental beauty and readability—not cluttered despite the large number of names.
Structure & Layout Over 500 names to be placed in correct genealogical order. Names must be logically arranged to clearly reflect lineage connections (parents–children–siblings). Visual flow should allow viewers to easily follow branches without confusion. Possible use of lines, connectors, or subtle color coding to distinguish branches/families.
Typography & Language Arabic/Urdu calligraphic text script must be legible and aesthetically styled (e.g., traditional calligraphic fonts). English names should be in a clear, modern, matching typeface. Both scripts must complement each other visually. Subtle decorative motifs (Islamic/heritage-inspired patterns) may be used in the background or framing, but should not overpower the tree.
Accuracy & Detail Precision is critical: all names, spellings, and positions must be double-checked. The designer will be provided with a complete dataset of names and lineage order. Must allow for future edits (editable Illustrator layers).
Deliverables Main editable Adobe Illustrator (.AI) file with organized layers. High-resolution PDF (print-ready). PNG/JPEG versions for digital preview/sharing. Layout mockups (before final delivery) for approval.
The final tree must: Be visually striking and professionally finished. Accurately represent a lineage of over 500 names. Allow viewers (both Urdu/Arabic and English readers) to easily navigate family connections.
