Background Hi, my name is Kitaro Waga. I run a YouTube channel with almost 100k subscribers where I teach breathwork, mindfulness, and movement practices. My videos range from educational explainers to guided breathwork sessions, and my goal is to make high-quality, science-backed content accessible to people who want to improve their health, performance, and mindset.
Editing takes up a lot of my time, and I’m looking for a skilled video editor to collaborate with long-term so I can focus more on filming and growing the channel.
Responsibilities • Edit 1–2 YouTube videos per week (typically 10–20 minutes each) • Sync video and external audio • Add engaging visuals: b-roll, slides, graphics, stock footage where needed • Create clean, minimal, professional edits (not over-the-top, but engaging and polished) • Add titles, text overlays, and simple transitions consistent with my style • Export videos optimized for YouTube and a podcast variation • Communicate with me for feedback and iterate quickly when needed (preferably Frame.io)
What I’m Looking For (Value + Vibe) • Reliable and consistent delivery • Experience editing YouTube-style educational content • A good sense for pacing and storytelling (not just cutting clips) • Someone who enjoys clean, modern and minimal editing styles (Ali Abdaal, Matt D’Avella, Nathaniel Drew are good references) • Bonus: Familiarity with breathwork, mindfulness, or wellness content
Vision My aim is to help people live healthier, calmer, and more intentional lives through breathwork and mindfulness. Ideally, I’d love to work with someone who resonates with that vision and cares about producing meaningful content—not just churning out edits.
Bonus Skills • Proficiency in Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve (Final Cut is a plus since I sometimes make tweaks myself) • Graphic design / motion graphics experience • AI skills to generate custom animations for slides and graphics (for example: https://youtu.be/9yBMtvD_CFw?si=7uioFXJIgfOtND3w)
Compensation I’m happy to pay $100–$200 per video depending on experience, complexity, and speed. Open to discussing per-hour or per-project pricing. Looking for a long-term partnership if we’re a good fit.
Hiring Process (Verification) If this sounds interesting, I’d like to give you a short trial task: editing a 5–7 minute clip into a polished mini-video. This will help us both see if our styles align.
