Expected duration: less than 1 week I am an artist creating a permanent public art sculpture, Quay Sounds, for Barnstaple Town (North Devon Council commission). The sculpture involves:
Internal stainless steel support frame, external copper cladding
Height approx. 1.8m (larger horn) and 1.4m (smaller horn)
Anchored into a concrete pad (depending on location and made up by a council contractor)
My responsibilities as an artist is to make sure the artwork is safe for public use and designed to last at least 20 years.
I am seeking a structural engineer who can:
-Provide formal structural calculations in line with Eurocode 0 (BS EN 1990:2023) and Eurocode 1 (EN 1991-1) and other
-Advise on safe design of the internal steel frame and anchoring system
-Provide calculations/report with professional indemnity insurance.
I have drawings and CAD file (prepared with a CAD technician).
Deliverables:
Review of drawings and proposed fabrication
Structural calculations and safety assessment
Signed documentation suitable for submission to North Devon Council
