UK accountant seeking a reliable freelance bookkeeper to assist with bookkeeping for 3–4 hours per week. This is a long-term opportunity for the right individual - all going well then time will increase as will responsibilities (perhaps to include year-end accounts preparation).
I'm not looking for a Bookkeeper per-se, I'm looking for an Accountant that is willing to undertake bookkeeping tasks (i.e. a very experienced bookkeeper - always with an eye on how the transactions you're posting will impact the year-end process/accounts).
Tasks include:
• Bookkeeping in Xero & FreeAgent • Matching Purchase and Sales Invoices from systems like Dext and Apron to Xero • Preparing basic reports or summaries of missing info / queries to raise to clients • Occasional support with VAT or CIS entries
Requirements:
• Experience with UK bookkeeping and accounting standards (preferably trained/training towards ACCA) • Familiarity with Xero, QuickBooks, or FreeAgent • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality • Fluent spoken and written English • Must be an individual freelancer (no agencies)
Nice to have:
• ACCA, AAT, or similar qualification • Prior experience supporting UK accountants or small businesses • Availability for occasional live check-ins (UK time)
Budget: Open to hourly or fixed monthly rate. Experience dependant.
