About Hardwood Arts I operate a wall art brand that creates engraved wood pieces using a laser machine. The designs are etched directly into natural wood slabs and need to be bold, clear, and captivating in black-and-white linework with an authentic, artisan feel.
Project Goals Create 2 laser-engraving-ready vector designs that are bold, detailed, and visually striking with a “pretty wild” characterful style. The designs should be memorable, reactional, and edgy, suitable for high-quality laser engraving on wood.

Style & Character
Designs should be bold, edgy, and on the “pretty wild” side—not boring or generic. Recognizable and clear in black-and-white; suitable for laser engraving. Subject matter should evoke interest and emotion — examples include tribal women with tattoos, flowing hair, expressive features, or dynamic poses. Preferred styles include tattoo line work, line art, etching, engraving-style, illustrative/sketch, ornamental, tribal patterns. The overall aesthetic should feel authentic, natural, and timeless—not cartoonish or modern clip-art. Design Approach
Designs can be fully AI-generated or hand-drawn and finished with AI — both are acceptable. Final files must be vector format (SVG/AI/EPS), scalable up to 30 inches, and optimized for laser engraving. The artwork should be bold and clear, with strong lines suitable for laser etching. Technical & Delivery Details
Format: SVG / AI / EPS + high-res PNG previews Size: Scalable up to 30 inches, maintaining detail Linework: Bold, no shading or gradients Files: Editable source files + final vector artwork (fully editable) Scope: For each project, I require 2 designs for £88 total, including revisions until the designs are ready for laser engraving. Future Work: More sets of 10–20 designs can be commissioned if this initial work is successful. References & Guidance
I will provide raster images (JPEG/PNG) for inspiration, including: Existing designs I like (e.g., African or tribal woman images) Themed motifs or themes I want incorporated Examples demonstrating what works best for laser engraving Note: Final artwork must be vector format, with references used as inspiration only.
Collaboration & Workflow
I am experienced with AI prompts and can guide the creative process. I will provide feedback and request revisions until the designs meet my standard. Clear, prompt communication is expected. Additional Notes
Designs must be suitable for laser engraving: recognizable, bold, and in black-and-white with strong lines. Avoid overly delicate shading or very thin lines that won’t reproduce well on the laser. Typical turnaround: 7–10 days for the initial 2 designs. Rights & Usage
All artwork created for this project will involve full commercial rights transfer, allowing me to use, modify, and sell the designs without restrictions. Previous Designer Experience
I’ve previously worked with talented designers, but clarity issues led to unmet expectations. I need a precise and professional brief that ensures exact understanding and execution. The two really nice African images are Raster images but i have been advised to make everything vector images, these where from my first desinger.
