Expected duration: 1 - 2 weeks Project Brief: "MapMySwim" App Finalisation & Deployment 1. Background & Purpose The “MapMySwim” app allows anglers to map swims on lakes/rivers by uploading a photograph of the swim and then annotating the image with icons to represent gravel, weed, and other features. Users then draw an alignment line to a far-bank marker (tree or similar) and annotate the icon to identify the range (yards or 'wraps), so that users can cast back to the same spot every time, and view or revisit them later. The app is mostly built in Replit but has a few unresolved issues preventing final deployment (e.g., scrolling issues, UI bugs, Firebase integration, hosting setup).
2. Project Objectives Complete development, fix existing issues, and polish UX/UI to a stable beta-ready version.
Deploy the app as: a web app publicly available (e.g., via Firebase Hosting or Vercel). an Android app via Capacitor or equivalent, ready for internal Play Store testing. an iOS app.
Provide documentation for future updates/handovers, and optionally train me in minor updates.
Success metrics: Fully working web version deployed and accessible. Android .apk or Play Store internal release available. iOs release available. Clear “how-to” handover documentation.
3. Scope of Work In Scope Resolve UI bugs and functional issues (list to be provided). Configure and deploy app on chosen hosting (Firebase Hosting or Vercel). Set up CI/CD: GitHub → Auto-deployed builds on code merge. If desired: Integrate Capacitor to wrap the web app into an Android build. Provide credentials handling guidance, setup secrets, environment variables. Deliver a handover document explaining project structure, deployment workflow, and update procedures.
Out of Scope Major rewrites or redesigns of the UI/UX beyond bug fixes. Adding new features beyond deployment and finishing existing ones. iOS packaging or multi-platform support at this stage. Setting up app store listings (beyond internal testing phase).
