I have just signed up for a WordPress website using Kristal, a Ruby package that comes with WordPress and other plugins, hosting, forms and calendar.
I just need to set up the site to publish stories and other content. I am a Councillor and want to use this site as a blog to keep residents informed of events via a calendar and to include forms so residents can contact me. The reason for a separate website is to offer flexibility, share stories on social media, and invite residents to sign up for my newsletter.
The current messy site is the starter template that I downloaded from Neve, but I’m happy not to use it if you have an alternate suggestion.
My requirements are;
1 - Home page with a Liberal Democrats logo. Text about me 2 - Events button and Sign-up to my newsletter button 3 - For me to be able to publish stories with pictures and change text on the home page, my photo, etc. To be able to promote stories on social media as and when. Add video links from YouTube, perhaps. 4 - Contact me
Colour palette: pale Yellow and other colours that complement. I trust that publishing stories will improve the site's SEO ranking.
