We are looking for a skilled freelance data analyst with Python experience to extend an existing Google Colab script that pulls SERP data via DataForSEO, by adding functionality for Google Shopping results using the Merchant API.
Objectives: - Use the DataForSEO Merchant API to retrieve Google Shopping product listings for a list of queries from a Google Sheet. - Append the following product data to our output table for each query: -- Product Title -- Product Description -- Product URL -- Position/Rank in Shopping results -- Domain (of product URL) -- Review Count (if available) -- Rating (out of 5, if available)
Existing Setup: - The current Python script: -- Runs in Google Colab -- Pulls a list of keywords from a Google Sheet ("Keywords" tab, column A) -- Uses DataForSEO SERP API for organic results -- You will be expected to build on top of this script
Deliverables: - Updated Colab script with: -- Function to query the Google Shopping Merchant API for each keyword -- Normalised output (DataFrame or CSV) with the above fields
- Error handling and retry logic - Clear documentation in the script - Instructions on how to run and authenticate with DataForSEO
Timeline: - Quick turnaround needed – ideally within 1–2 weeks
You’ll need: - Python (esp. requests, pandas) - Familiarity with Google Colab - Experience working with APIs - Bonus: Experience using DataForSEO APIs
