We are building a website where users can create and showcase their ‘model portfolios’ (a list of stocks and their respective weightings). The platform will track each portfolio’s performance over time and benchmark it against peers using common risk and return metrics.
The back-end developer will be responsible for handling stock price API integration (e.g. Yahoo Finance), performing daily calculations, admin features, and other simple tasks (e.g. registration/login and social media sharing).
You will be working with an existing set of high-fidelity Figma mockups and a fully implemented front-end in React + Tailwind.
All the calculation methodologies for the performance metrics are well documented in an Excel file.
Tech Stack Preference - Language: Node.js (Express preferred) - Database: MongoDB (or Postgres if easier) - API: REST (or GraphQL optional) - Auth: JWT-based authentication - Market Data: preference for Yahoo Finance API (although open to suggestions)
