We are looking for a highly experienced freelance developer to lead the migration of a long-standing mobile application from Xamarin.Forms to .NET MAUI. With Xamarin being deprecated, this project is essential to ensure the app remains functional, supported, and maintainable.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background in both Xamarin and MAUI, with proven experience migrating or building production-grade apps using both platforms. Evidence of past work or relevant case studies will be required.
The original developer, who built and maintained the app over the past six years and has now transitioned to MAUI, will be available to oversee the project and provide guidance where needed. This ensures continuity and technical insight throughout the migration process.
The migration plan includes setting up a new MAUI environment, aligning the project structure with MAUI standards, updating UI components, converting custom renderers, refactoring platform-specific code, and implementing the MAUI MVVM Community Toolkit.
