Verification: You will receive a list containing 224 data points/statistics (approximately 203 unique stats) currently cited within these 34 topics. Each statistic has a reference number (e.g., 6.1.1) and often a cited source (e.g., "2024 FTC report", "Kaspersky study").
New Research: You will also be required to research and find approximately 100 additional relevant and recent statistics related to the existing topics. These new statistics should be distributed relatively evenly across the 34 topics (aiming for about 3 new, relevant stats per topic).
Your Responsibilities:
Verify Existing Statistics (224 total entries):
For each provided statistic, attempt to locate the original source (report, study, press release, reputable news article citing the primary source).
Confirm the accuracy of the statistic (the number/percentage, the year, and the context).
Provide a direct link to the source or a clear reference (e.g., report name, page number) for each verified statistic.
If a statistic cannot be verified or if there's a discrepancy, make a clear note explaining the issue.
Research New Statistics (Approx. 100):
Identify relevant, credible, and preferably recent (ideally within the last 1-3 years, unless historical context is needed) statistics related to the subject matter of each of the 34 topics.
Focus on reputable sources (e.g., established cybersecurity firms, government agencies like FTC/FBI/CISA, academic research, major tech news outlets citing primary sources).
Provide the new statistic, the source, the year, and a direct link or clear reference.
Distribute these new statistics logically and relatively evenly across the 34 topics.
Deliverables:
A spreadsheet or organized document (e.g., Google Sheet, Word Doc) containing:
The original list of 224 statistics.
For each original stat: Verification status (Verified, Discrepancy Found, Unable to Verify), the correct statistic if a discrepancy was found, the source link/reference, and any relevant notes.
A list of the ~100 new statistics, clearly formatted with the statistic itself, the source, the year, the link/reference, and the topic it relates to.
