We provide high-quality short-term and emergency teaching cover across Southend and Essex. With growing demand, we're now seeking a confident and reliable part-time coordinator to act as the first point of contact for schools.
The Role This is a flexible, part-time role for someone who can speak to schools professionally on video or phone and help coordinate short-term cover placements. You’ll be the person schools call or hear from when they need support—acting as “Office Manager” in emails (name and branding provided), while all management, finance, and recruitment decisions are handled directly by the Director.
What You’ll Do
Answer or make short video calls to schools requesting cover
Confirm availability and match teachers from our internal list
Send polite, professional follow-up emails (templates provided)
Use your own quiet space and device to take brief calls or record short replies
Represent Lumira Education with calm, clear communication
Requirements
Excellent spoken and written English
Confidence speaking professionally on video (Zoom or Loom-style replies)
Warm, calm, and organised approach
Reliable availability during school hours (Mon–Fri, part-time)
UK-based with good internet and basic tech setup
Nice to Have
Familiarity with school environments or education systems
Previous admin, reception, or coordinator experience
Ability to learn and follow clear communication templates
