I am seeking a solicitor experienced in Senior Courts Costs Office (SCCO) proceedings and solicitor-client cost disputes to conduct an independent review of a costs claim brought against me by a firm acting on a "no win, no fee" basis. This is not about winning or losing in the traditional sense — I understand that costs judges often uphold CFA retainers, even in disputed situations — but I want to understand:
Whether my current defence has merit, Whether my existing Points of Dispute should be amended or expanded, What risks I face in terms of liability for the claimant's fees and court costs, Whether it’s worth proceeding to the hearing or better to seek a settlement.
