We are developing a web-based interactive navigation tool for a large indoor venue. The goal of Phase 1 is to create a functional indoor navigation system that enables users to find their way inside the venue using a 3D map with real-time positioning.
We have chosen React + Mapbox GL JS for the frontend and IndoorAtlas for indoor positioning. The system should provide real-time wayfinding based on pre-mapped geomagnetic data.
In Phase 2, we plan to integrate AR overlays using VPS (Visual Positioning Systems) for more immersive wayfinding and interactive sponsorship activations. While this is not part of the initial scope, freelancers should consider future scalability when developing the core architecture.

Phase 1 Scope of Work
1. Interactive 3D Map (Mapbox GL JS) • Develop a custom 3D map of the venue (using Mapbox Studio). • Implement floor switching for multi-level navigation. • Add points of interest (POIs) such as exits, booths, amenities, etc. • Enable clickable markers for interactivity.
2. Indoor Positioning (IndoorAtlas) • Set up IndoorAtlas SDK for real-time user positioning. • Pre-map the venue’s geomagnetic data (we can provide venue scans). • Implement real-time location tracking based on IndoorAtlas data. • Ensure smooth position updates as the user moves.
3. Navigation & Wayfinding • Develop a custom routing system (shortest path from A to B). • Display step-by-step directions overlaid on the 3D map. • Enable real-time recalculations if the user moves off course.
4. Mobile-First, Web-Based Experience • Ensure smooth performance on mobile browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge). • Implement touch gestures for zooming, panning, and interacting with the map. • Optimize for low-latency updates in mobile web environments.

Expertise Needed
We are looking for freelancers with expertise in the following areas:
Frontend Development (React + Mapbox GL JS) • Strong knowledge of React.js for building a dynamic frontend. • Experience with Mapbox GL JS for interactive 3D mapping.
Indoor Positioning & Geospatial Tech • Prior experience with IndoorAtlas or similar indoor positioning SDKs. • Understanding of geomagnetic positioning and sensor-based tracking.
