Expected duration: 1 day or less This job post is for amending the existing engineer design, and it is limited only to the UK chartered engineers. If you are not the UK chartered engineer your offer will not be considered as you are expected to have the professional indemnity insurance for the engineer design works, the copy of the insurance will be requested in due course.
The engineer design is already in hand for an end of terrace standard London terraced house of two storey with the roof conversion. It is a ground up reconstruction design. All is fine with that design but the following changes are sought in it:
1. The two leaf cavity wall to be changed to a single leaf 215mm thick solid wall to meet or exceed all the original design loadbearing requirements, including for any padstone changes. An insulation is to be applied onto the surface of a leaf. For a 215mm thick H+H Celcon blocks spec see the attached doc, i.e. 215x440x215. 1.1 You will note that there are no internal spine walls accounted for in the existing design; 1.2 The floor max span allowed apparently in the design by the Celcon is 6m, hence the additional changes to the padstones may need to be incorporated to spread the loads on Celcon blocks, e.g. the ladder type blockwork reinforcement ties are acceptable if needed.
2. To confirm if the solid wall may do without any wind posts, contrary to the two leaf design needing them.
3. If there are any other design terms changes when changing to a solid wall of 215mm thick HH Celcon spec, potentially 7.3kN on the Grnd Fl and 3.6 for the upper floors.
4. The pdf format drawings file is over 10Mb in size so it will be provided to you upon your offer being accepted. In case of any changes to the drawings there is no need to redraw anything and simply the added annotations, even by hand, would suffice.
