The dichotomy occurs where inheritance tax or other expenses are levied on the estate. In essence probate will only be granted after the expenses and the inheritance tax are paid. This is usually 6 months after a death. The dilemma arises where the executors are unable to pay the taxes or settle the estate debts. This is where we come in.
