Expected duration: 1 - 6 months We are looking for a solicitor who can represent a foreign colleague whose English is not good before magistrates courts regarding two offences:
- Speeding (3 point fixed penalty offer accepted & paid; details never reached police so they refunded payment and escalated to court. Defendant didn't know and wasn't notified about court proceedings, only found out in decision letter which turned it into 5 points. Now wants to go to court to ask to reduce back to 3 points.)
- Driving without insurance (Language barrier miscommunication - officer who stopped thought he was on business and gave 6 points but he wasn't working that day; vehicle was full insured for social & pleasure; trying to cancel 6 points in court)
