I am looking for a highly qualified accountant to review and rectify errors in my company's financial records. My previous accountants were not helpful, and my accounts do not accurately reflect the financial health of the business. I need someone who can thoroughly review the last 2.5 years of accounts, correct any mistakes, and ensure everything is in order for HMRC compliance.
Currently, my accounts are managed through FreeAgent, but I would like to transition to Xero once the corrections have been made.
Key Requirements:
Conduct a detailed review of all past accounts (covering 2.5 years and two sets of annual submissions). Reconcile director loan accounts, PAYE, VAT, and other liabilities to reflect the true financial position of the business. Properly categorise capital contributions as equity rather than liabilities. Identify and rectify errors in categorisation or allocation of income and expenses. Set up and optimise a clean, accurate accounting system in Xero, ensuring a smooth transition from FreeAgent. Provide clear documentation of all corrections made and advice on maintaining accurate accounts going forward. My business is a trading card middleman service, and I need an accountant familiar with the nuances of small business accounting and UK tax regulations.
Deliverables:
Corrected financial records in FreeAgent that comply with HMRC requirements. A fully functional and optimised accounting setup in Xero. A report summarising all errors found, corrections made, and recommendations for future improvements.
Required Skills:
Expertise in FreeAgent and Xero accounting software.
Strong knowledge of small business accounts and HMRC compliance. Proven experience in transitioning accounts between software platforms. Familiarity with handling director loan accounts and capital contributions.
