We are seeking an experienced structural engineer to assist with a critical project involving the demolition of an existing concrete bridge and the design of a new replacement bridge. This role requires a combination of structural analysis, detailed planning, and technical documentation.
Scope of Work:
1. Demolition Planning: • Perform structural calculations for the existing bridge to determine safe demolition procedures. • Develop a comprehensive method statement for the bridge’s demolition, considering safety, environmental, and logistical requirements. 2. New Bridge Design: • Create a structural design for the replacement bridge, adhering to international and local codes. • Prepare a construction method statement for the new structure.
3. Technical Documentation: • Provide detailed reports and presentations for project stakeholders. • Prepare all designs and plans using professional tools and software.
Skills Required:
The ideal candidate should have expertise in the following areas: • Structural engineering for steel and concrete structures. • Proficiency in: • Structural Analysis Tools: STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent. • Design Software: AutoDesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor. • Documentation Tools: Microsoft Word and Excel. • Knowledge of international and local building codes.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven experience in bridge demolition and/or construction projects. • Ability to deliver detailed, clear, and actionable method statements. • Strong communication skills for presenting ideas and collaborating with project stakeholders.
