I want to move my business into a Shopify but with a particular set up for the products.
We HIRE products in a local area, rather than sell them. I need to know if it’s possible in a sensible way to set things up to meet my needs below. I’ve tried a few apps to achieve what I need and a more experienced Shopify Developer may be better placed to judge. If it is possible, I want to go ahead and put it together.
CRITERIA Postcode We only hire to certain postcodes so need a postcode checker on the product page. - Check that you are in a postcode we cover - Different products have different delivery areas. - If it’s certain postcodes, charge more. IE LS1 = £+10 - Wildcard postcodes so LS1* and LS11* can be checked separately
Dates We hire by overnight as standard so need a range to be selected. Have tried this through IzyRent and it works well. - Select dates for hire. Overnight as standard/1 day. Ie if hiring 14th, end date is 15th. Can select a range.
Selecting products We have multiple hire items but don’t want to overbook. - Has to check availability of item based on the date. - Is this done through selection of two numbers etc, or text input??? - Can it show the numbers placed together or a relevant variant. Add ons We also sell complimentary items that go with these products. Want these to be easy to add on - Add a balloon arch, standard, premium - Input for colours
Confirmation Boxes - Read terms and conditions and tickbox - Tickbox to confirm we can access between 9am and 2pm - Field to add booking notes
