Position Overview: We are seeking a Graphic Designer with a passion for wine culture and a strong background in packaging design, particularly for wine or spirits labels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating innovative, eye-catching wine labels that align with our brand’s vision, resonate with our target audience, and stand out in the competitive wine market. You will collaborate closely with the marketing, branding, and production teams to ensure that each design reflects the quality and essence of the wine inside the bottle.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Concept Development: Create unique, on-brand wine label designs that capture the essence of each wine varietal, the brand's identity, and appeal to target consumers. Brand Consistency: Ensure that designs are aligned with the overall brand aesthetic and maintain consistency across all product lines. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with winemakers, marketing, and production teams to understand the story behind each wine and translate it into a captivating label. Print Production: Prepare print-ready files and ensure designs meet the technical requirements for printing and production, including color accuracy, die lines, and material considerations. Research & Trend Analysis: Stay up to date with current design trends in the wine and spirits industry to create contemporary and competitive designs. Packaging Design: Occasionally assist with other packaging elements such as bottle neckers, boxes, and other promotional materials. Revisions & Feedback: Adapt designs based on feedback from internal teams, regulatory requirements, or focus groups. Brand Guidelines: Ensure all work adheres to brand guidelines and meets any regulatory or legal requirements specific to wine labeling. Required Qualifications: Experience: 3-5 years of professional graphic design experience, with a focus on packaging or wine label design. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Familiarity with label printing processes, dielines, and prepress is essential. Creativity: Strong portfolio showcasing original packaging design, with an emphasis on wine, spirits, or related industries. Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail, particularly in typography, color schemes, and layout design. Understanding of Branding: Ability to interpret brand values and product stories into compelling visual designs. Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements: Familiarity with the specific legal requirements for wine labeling (e.g., alcohol content, region, warnings) is a plus. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain design concepts clearly and professionally. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing for the wine or beverage industry. Knowledge of printing techniques, materials, and finishes (e.g., embossing, foil stamping). Interest in or knowledge of wine culture, varietals, and trends. Experience in product photography or illustration is a bonus.
