I am seeking an experienced animator to create a 7 minute long 2D cartoon with integrated 3D graphics. The target audience is adults and older children who enjoy animated shows displaying creativity and technical skill.
The visual style should blend hand drawn 2D animation with moments that transition seamlessly into realistic 3D environments and objects. Character designs should be colorful yet complex to captivate viewers. Examples of successful blended 2D/3D projects include certain Pixar shorts as well as intro sequences from shows like Gravity Falls.
Storytelling remains paramount but sophisticated 3D elements can intensify dramatic beats or add humor. Technical virtuosity alone will not suffice, heart and imagination must also shine through. Applicants should submit links showcasing at least two short animated works they led from concept to finish. Expertise with industry standard animation and 3D modeling/rendering software is expected.
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and portfolio quality. I aim to release the completed cartoon across streaming platforms. Top candidates will receive further guidance on refinement of animation tests and storyboards prior to full production. Only motivations of creative passion and challenge need apply.
