We are seeking an experienced WordPress Automation Developer to create a custom web-based interface that streamlines the deployment of WordPress sites across subdomains and subdirectories. This system will automate the process of installing a main WordPress site, cloning it to subdomains, and then generating multiple subdirectory sites under each subdomain. The interface should be simple, branded with our company’s design, and allow non-technical users to execute the deployment process with ease.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop a Custom Web Interface: • Build a user-friendly online interface with our company’s branding that enables the automated installation and deployment of WordPress sites. • Ensure that the interface is straightforward, allowing an admin to trigger the installation and cloning processes with minimal input. • Provide the ability to input a list of technologies or names that will be used to create subdirectories under the main domain. • Automate WordPress Deployment: • Automate the installation of a main WordPress site on a primary subdomain. • Clone the main WordPress site to a list of predefined subdomains. • Automatically create subdirectory sites under each subdomain using the list provided by the user. • Ensure each site is fully independent, with separate databases and configurations. • Integrate with Cloud Services: • Utilize our existing cloud account and its API to manage DNS settings, ensuring seamless creation of subdomains. • Automate DNS entries for each new subdomain created during the process. • Admin Access and Security: • Provide admin access through the standard WordPress wp-admin interface for each deployed site, eliminating the need for backend access to the custom interface. • Ensure that the system is secure and that each site operates independently without risk of cross-site contamination. • Output and Documentation: • Upon completion of each deployment, the system should generate a list of the completed links (e.g., subdomain.domain.com/technology), which the admin can easily access. • Provide clear documentation and inline help within the interface to guide users through the process.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in WordPress Development: • Deep understanding of WordPress core, custom development, and automation techniques. • Experience with WordPress Multisite (though this project requires independent site installations) and managing multiple WordPress instances. • Web Development: • Strong skills in PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and familiarity with web frameworks. • Experience in developing user interfaces with a focus on simplicity and usability. • Automation and Scripting: • Ability to write scripts (Bash, Python, PHP) that automate web tasks, particularly in deploying and configuring WordPress sites. • Familiarity with WP-CLI for managing WordPress installations via command line. • Cloud Integration: • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their APIs, particularly for DNS management and automation. • Understanding of API integration and managing DNS records programmatically. • Security and Best Practices: • Ensure that the deployed sites are secure and follow WordPress security best practices. • Familiarity with managing user access, roles, and permissions within WordPress.
Additional Considerations:
• Experience with All-in-One WP Migration or similar tools: To streamline the cloning process. • Version Control: Familiarity with Git for managing and versioning the codebase.
