1. Miles / distance by road. Customer would enter colllection postcode and delivery postcode.
2. Value. Customer enters value of item
3. Weight. Customer enters item, and so we can check a list of items to give weight.
4. Steps. Customer enters number of steps involved.
In the background the following would be calculated:
Miles x Value x Weight x Steps = Total £quote
We would have control cost per mile, the cost per value, the cost per kg, the cost per step. Eg. £1 per mile, £3 per 1000 value, £1 per kg, £5 per step.
All this would happen in the background and reveal one simple Price for the customer.
They could then: - print the quote - save the quote - accept the quote and book and pay
Stage 2:
Online booking.
If the customer is happy with the price then they can book the collection and delivery online.
This would involve using the postcode Already entered to identify the full address for both collection and delivery.
We collect / deliver to certain postcodes on certain days.
So based on the postcode they would be able to choose certain dates.
Then pay online, and receive a confirmation email of collection and delivery.
