WalkWild is a brand that embodies the spirit of 'rewilding people'– reconnecting with nature and embracing a more primal, authentic way of living. Our mission is to inspire people to rediscover the beauty and simplicity of the wild, and to strive to keep one foot in the wild.
'Walk Wild' is both a mantra and recommendation, but also is a slight play on words as my surname is Walker and my passion is the wild and creating a wilderness brand.
The domain I am using for my website is walkwild.life (rough version already online but brand colours etc not yet established so please do not take inspiration from there). I like the idea this further expands the mantra of the brand to 'walk a wild life'.
Target Audience:
Our audience is made up of outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those seeking a deeper connection with the earth. They value authenticity, simplicity, and the raw beauty of the natural world. They are people who find joy in camping under the stars, cooking over a campfire, and crafting with their hands. However also for people who are the opposite and seek to become the first.
Core Values:
Authenticity: We believe in genuine experiences, no gimmicks or pretences.
Simplicity: A return to what’s real and honest, valuing the basic, primal ways of living.
Connection: Deep relationships with the land and each other, forming a tight-knit community.
Adventure: Embracing the wild, not just as a thrill but as a way of life.
Balance: Finding harmony between the primal and modern worlds, encouraging small but meaningful connections to nature.
Logo Inspiration:
Natural Elements: Incorporate one or more symbols of the wild, such as mountains, trees, rivers, or campfires. These elements should feel raw and untamed, not overly polished.
Primal Connection: Consider using motifs that evoke ancient or tribal imagery, something that speaks to our roots and the idea of rewilding.
Timeless & Simple: The logo should be clean and straightforward, reflecting the simplicity and authenticity of the brand. Avoid anything too modern or complex.
Handcrafted Feel: A design that looks hand-drawn or crafted, with textures or details that suggest it’s been made with care and intention.
However as I mention these Things, feel free to be creative and out of the box.
One idea I have had is using footprints to illustrate 'walking wild' but that is not a firm suggestion, just a potential idea. I am not creating a hiking brand and so do not want there to be any confusion there.
Colors:
Earthy tones such as deep greens, browns, and muted blues.
A palette that evokes the natural world – think forest, sky, soil, and stone.
Usage:
The logo will be used across my website, social media, merchandise, on business cards etc. It should be versatile enough to look good in both full color and black-and-white versions.
Deliverables:
Initial suggestion of a minimum of five logos.
Further work to then take on feedback and refine one of those ideas.
Final copy of a high res primary logo.
Variations that work on different backgrounds (dark, light, transparent).
A favicon for website use.
