I am seeking a talented eBook formatter and designer to bring a visual edge to a comprehensive hiking guide. This project requires someone with a keen eye for design, proficiency in eBook formatting, and the ability to incorporate photos, links and elements that resonate with the adventure and hiking community.
About the Book: • Title: Pack like a pro • Genre: Non-fiction / Hiking & Adventure Travel • Length: 38,000 words • Audience: Hikers, adventurers, and outdoor enthusiasts – from beginners to experienced trekkers • Topic – it gives a list of all the gear items needed for a multiday hike, like Everest Base Camp, or climbing Kilimanjaro. It also gives advice of when to buy how to maintain the gear, and loads of other interesting stuff related to gear. It’s based on experience that the author has gained through years of climbing mountains.
Requirements: • Experience: Proven track record in ebook design and formatting, preferably in travel, outdoor, or adventure genres. • Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing previous work, especially with similar content. • Software Proficiency: Must be adept with ebook formatting and design software, ideally inDesign (unless you recommend other?) • Communication: Open to collaboration and regular updates. • Timeline: • First sample to ensure right theme is selected – 18th Feb • Project completion by 1st March.
What You’ll Do: • Formatting: Ensure the ebook is perfectly formatted for various digital platforms; divices (phones, tables, laptops, computers) and different operating systems (MacOS, Microsoft, ChromOS, Linux etc) • Design: Enhance the visual appeal of the ebook - transform the manuscript into a visually stunning ebook that is easy to navigate and read. • Photo Integration: Incorporate and arrange photos in a way that complements and elevates the text. A bunch of images will be provided, you’ll need to choose those most suitable, plus some must be downloaded online (e.g. a link to a gear item will be provided and you’ll need to copy that image from there to visually show what an item really is because some items may not be obvious for unexperienced hiker) • Integrating links: Each item of gear will have 3 links provided (some may have
