I am looking to hire a video editor to create *and* edit very simple screen-recording videos for a software company. The videos will be: Screen-recordings of our software tool being used. These could then be lightly edited, as appropriate.
The YouTube videos will be centered around our software product, which is a Photoshop plugin that automates mockup image creation for graphic designers and print-on-demand business owners. The Photoshop plugin itself is very simple and easy to use.
To be clear, I am not just hiring someone to edit videos I will send you. I am instead hiring someone to perform the actual screen recordings themselves, demoing the software tool, explaining how it works and providing a narration, then also highlighting the key benefits of the software tool to potential customers. These screen recordings can then be lightly edited to produce the finished videos.
The ideal candidate will need to speak clear and fluent English for the video narrations. I am hiring someone interested to BOTH perform the screen-recordings using the software while providing a narration, then ALSO lightly edit the videos after the fact.
The videos will not be super heavily edited, animated, flashy videos. Think, a literal screen-recording of you using the software tool under the specified use-case, a narration to go with it, and some light simple editing to just retain the best bits, remove the bloopers, and add some simple edits/graphics as needed to make the video a bit more engaging, highlight key points/benefits, etc. Your face or identity will not need to appear anywhere in the videos.
The ideal candidate will also need to have an active Photoshop subscription, as it's a Photoshop plugin that the videos will be demoing.
The workflow will be straightforward: I will send you the list of video topics, for a given time period. (For example, 4 videos for a month: Video 1 = "How To Automate T-Shirt Mockup Creation", Video 2 = "How To Create 1000 Poster Mockups w/ 30 Seconds of Work", etc). You will then simply have free creative reign to record the video, and demo the software, and edit the videos, in whatever manner you best see fit. If needed, I could help provide whatever .psd mockups / images may be needed to demo the software under the specified use-case for a given video (however there are tons of free websites/resources online that provide probably all .psd mockups you would need. That said, I'd be happy to help provide whatever resources are needed.)
I would prefer to hit upon clear expectations about the amount of time spent total, for each given video, so there's clarity about how much money will be spent for each video. So maybe, for example, we could allocate something like 15 minutes for planning + prep for each video, 45 minutes for the screen recording, and 1 hour for the editing. Something like that. Then, whatever you're able to do in that amount of time, that's as far as we would push it for a given video, and we would just call it good with that amount of time spent.
Final requirement: You must agree, in writing, to grant me and my company full copyright and ownership over the videos, as part of the contract/working agreement.
Sorry for the long posting, did not have time to shorten it + just wanted to be thorough. If this work sounds like something you'd be interested in, let me know!
(NOTE: PPH doesn't let me set a range for hourly rate, so I just set it to $40 for the sake of getting the posting through. Please apply with your standard hourly rate.)
