The On the Day Event Manager at Red Event Wedding Fayres is responsible for overseeing the seamless execution of wedding fayres. This role involves managing a team of 2 or 3 event assistants, coordinating on-site logistics, ensuring setup per site plan, liaising with suppliers and exhibitors, overseeing the registration process for brides and grooms, and maintaining event quality. Success in this position involves meticulous organisation, effective team management, exceptional communication, and proactive problem-solving skills. The On the Day Event Manager plays a crucial role in upholding the company's reputation for delivering outstanding events and ensuring the satisfaction of both suppliers, couples and the venue.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PRE EVENT:
- Attend online pre-event meetings with the team to discuss updates and finalise event details.
- Collect and ensure completeness of the event box, including necessary materials.
- Print essential on-the-day information such as job lists, site plans, supplier contact details, and signage.
- Conduct a venue visit if necessary to familiarise oneself with event spaces and logistical arrangements.
- When available, pre event set up of venue the day before.
ON THE DAY:
7:30 am - 11:59 am:
- Arrive at the event site, coordinate with venue contacts, and ensure setup per site plan.
- Oversee cleanliness and setup readiness for supplier arrival.
- Manage the registration desk, welcome suppliers, and ensure their needs are met.
- Monitor supplier requirements, refreshments, and entertainment schedules.
- Perform periodic checks on suppliers and venue spaces, collect raffle prizes, and manage event documentation.
- Take and send photos for social media updates.
12 pm - 3/4 pm:
- Continued supervision of registration desk and overseeing the registration process for brides and grooms.
- Coordinate event proceedings and ensure smooth transitions.
- Assist with necessary organisational tasks, cleanliness, and post-event packing.
- Conduct a final check for any remaining items and ensure venue cleanup.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRMENST
- Experience in team management and within the event industry.
- Experience in handling complaints or resolving issues with a positive approach.
- Outgoing, warm, and friendly demeanor.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented.
- Possession of a valid driving license and access to a car.
- High school diploma; BSc/BA will be a plus
- Degree in Events or a relevant field is a plus
PAYMENT
- Day rate & petrol reimbursement.
- Payment upon invoice submission post-event to Red Event, including bank details for processing.
