I am looking for someone with a deep experience in linguistics and figurative language analysis and who is able to conduct qualitative analysis on a project I have in mind. The project will involve identifying idioms (linguistic expressions whose overall meaning cannot be predicted from the meanings of the constituent parts) from 13 quotes based on qualitative interview data. The text is in English and consists of approximately 852 words. The goal is to identify (underline) the idiomatic expressions in the quotes. Rather than simply consider idioms as fixed, the study recognizes that speakers can modify the original idiom, thus variation of idioms exist. Experience in figurative language analysis and post-graduate degree in relevant area essential, with an ability to showcase the methodology through which the idiomatic expressions were identified. As for the timeline for the project, it is flexible and open to discussion.
