Expected duration: 1 day or less Hi Programmers, I have a client who has several teams of people working in construction. The membership of each team varies each day. The numbers of teams vary each day. Changes are made all the time, including on the day itself (ie. changes to today’s teams are made today and throughout the day)
They organise each day’s teams and the people in those teams by having multiple Google sheets (one per day) in a Google Drive folder. Each sheet is based on the date using the YYYYMMDD system.
Today’s Date: Monday 10th April 2023 Team Name | Team Leader | Assistant’s Name | Vehicle Number | Notes
The managers prepare Google Sheets many weeks into the future as soon as they have work information for their employees.
Only the managers can edit the Google Sheets from the office. The managers would like to give the workers access to a screen (read-only) with the web browser (Google Chrome) permanently rotating between two tabs that the workers to be able to see showing:
Today’s Teams & Tomorrow’s Teams
They already have a Chrome addon that rotates through pages like a slideshow. The contents of the webpages (that keep the same URL) need to update continuously as the managers make changes. The actual dates for “Today” and “Tomorrow” of course change every 24 hours.
What is Required: A Google Drive & Google Sheets based system (possibly using Google Apps Functions & Scripts) that shows two sheets (each with the a URL that doesn't vary), each with the company logo and the word “Today’s Teams” or “Tomorrow’s Teams” respectively. Each Sheet must access the data from
Access to this organisation’s Google services cannot be granted for privacy reasons, but a demonstration of the working of such a system and the scripts / code and instructions to set this up (+ setup support if required).
