Expected duration: More than 6 months The GM Ringway is a 300km walking trail comprised of 20 stages that will connect the 2.8 million residents of Greater Manchester with the natural and cultural heritage on their doorstep. Green in every way, each of its 20 stages is accessed by public transport. The GM Ringway Project is led by CPRE Lancashire, Liverpool City Region and Greater Manchester and the Greater Manchester and High Peak area group of the Ramblers, and has received a grant of £250,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Project success will require excellent publicity and communications throughout the 18-month period, ensuring a steady stream of inspiring stories, visuals and other content are effectively communicated to the various target audiences, including potential trail users, volunteers, and business audiences.
CPRE and the Ramblers are seeking the support of a freelance / self-employed professional to provide the following service for the GM Ringway project for the period December 2022-June 2024:
Develop and implement effective PR strategies, tactics and campaigns reaching audiences in all parts of Greater Manchester; Prepare appropriate press releases and promotional materials; Establish and maintain positive communications and relationships with priority media and stakeholders.
It is expected that the service will be provided by a single individual to ensure effective project continuity and maintain effective external relationships. We envisage an average of two days’ work per month over the project timescale.
We will brief the successful applicant more fully on project requirements once the contract is awarded.
Supplier to provide the service from January 2023 – June 2024. CPRE to review service provision on an ongoing basis.
