A simple RSS aggregator that outputs posts in a timeline view similar to Twitter or Facebook. Based on current open source code aggregator. HTML design prototypes provided.
- Feed scroll state needs to be saved while reading, with new posts getting dynamically loaded above current state, similar to Twitter; this is key functionality!
- Posts have summarized view and link out to full posts
- Needs to tie in to current database system of user accounts and enable signing up new users from the same database
- A listing page shows feeds user is subscribed to and allows adding new feeds as well as removing current feeds
- Account page with basic user info and settings
- Option to import OPML file of feeds, and export them to OPML
The essential goal is to combine two existing systems and customize them to follow HTML prototypes. Based on results of initial project, there’s potential for upgrades to be made and on-going work.
