Brand/ Company name background - the word 'Artificial' is used in the business name as this is our primary product. The word 'Flora' not only meaning plants/ floral it was chosen as Flora, in Roman mythology, was the goddess of the flowering of plants. She wore a flower crown, goddess of springtime, flowers, festival. A large part of the brand will be about Flora. She will be our face. However, it's important not to go down the feminine route too much as we don't want to exclude men.
Logo Feel - We don't want it to be a faceless, corporate, business to business type of logo. We want to build a connection with the buyers. We think using 'Flora' as the mascot/ persona works well.
Logo Use - Some examples of the digital and printed use of the logo. Website (favicon, website header and footer, an icon in headers). Social Media (thumbnails, cover photos). Packaging (printed on the ribbon of the bouquets, stamped on printed boxes, labels, die-cut stickers, packaging tape). Other use (business cards, gift vouchers, florist aprons).
Slogan: Open for suggestions nothing at this point in time.
Deliverables - Ideally saved down in multiple formats ready to go without any need of editing for example, but not limited to, the main logo, the logo with the name underneath, the logo with name to the side, name only, logo only etc. Also saved down as full colour, black and white, transparent, symbol only, favicon... Having the SVG's, vector artwork files are important as well as the JPG, PNG... I would also need all raw files. Please also advise on the colours (hex) and font name and sizes you used so the website and branding can all be in keeping.
In regards to the below - Please note I am not a designer and would not want to lead anyone down a rabbit hole! Please create something you think looks good!
Colours - Maybe it's my lack of imagination but I guess green but please advise - #75c32c. If the logo is multi-coloured it needs to work well when applied to packaging such as the delivery box. It will be applied using a custom, rubber black stamp.
Logo Type: 'Wordmarks (or logotypes)' I think my company name might be too long for this design. Maybe I'm wrong? 'Lettermarks' I don't know for a start-up company where the public are unaware of what we do if this is appropriate. It might be hard for people to grasp what we sell from the logo. 'Pictorial marks/ logo symbols' the symbol would need to be fully unqiue otherwise it's just the company name (dare I say) with a flower symbol. Plus if I use a flower symbol would a consumer know we sell other items such as plants? An 'abstract logo mark' would combat the stock symbol feel described in the above pictorial mark however the logo needs to be instantly recognisable what we sell. I don't know if an abstract symbol would do this. 'The emblem' might be hard to read as a favicon or when it's printed or stamped onto packaging if it has lots of detail. Mascot - 'Flora' as the mascot? The mascot can be used as the cover of the 'gift message card without the company name. I have seen modern illustrations of Flora and think they work well. However, I appreciate this is out of the scope of logo design and more illustration/ fine art.
