As such, we are singularly focused on our partnership with the multinational charity Parvati Foundation (parvati.org) to support its all-volunteer efforts, which are currently directed to the immediate realization of MAPS, the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary. The largest marine protected area in history, MAPS is essential to cool our overheated world and prevent widespread famine, natural disasters, mass displacement, runaway extinction, and nuclear conflict.
We harness the power of modern media to melt hearts, cool minds, and enlist hundreds of millions of people in an inspiring and transformative global movement for MAPS. We change international law and give hope and voice to the forgotten millions around the world who, in this very moment, lack the needed food, water or even oxygen to survive.
As the Radio Plugger, your most critical task is to ensure the successful worldwide exposure of our music to be global hits—not for bragging rights associated with securing gold or platinum sales, but because doing so with these purposely created proprietary songs helps to create profound shifts in the mindset of hundreds of millions of people around the world. A Harvard study has shown that when just 3.5% of a population activate, they ensure change happens. We are deliberately and specifically targeting that percentage of the world’s population in order to swiftly realize MAPS in a time when 14,000 tons of Arctic ice melt every second putting all life at risk. Through the global success of this music, you rapidly and exponentially increase the visibility of MAPS and convert listeners to active MAPS supporters.
You must be outgoing, enthusiastic, and organized, comfortable making cold calls and attentive to detail to ensure that your work is clearly documented, while working in brand, at quality and on time. Reporting to the Radio Promotions Lead and the Director of Marketing, you will work alongside other radio pluggers to build databases, reach radio stations, and ensure they add our proprietary music to their programming in heavy rotation. You are committed to professionally meeting the goals set by the Radio Promotions Lead, and being a MAPS advocate, because by doing so, you make a difference to all life on Earth.
You will also be developing relationships with the radio stations as media partners for MAPS, so that they join the fast growing corporate and NGO coalition known as SignMAPS (signmaps.org). You will work alongside our social media and PR teams. Your initial measure for the success of radio penetration is that 50 million people, inspired by our first single(s), sign the MAPS petition before COP 26, the United Nations climate conference taking place this November.
Your duties will include: • Build and maintain a database of detailed contact information across different radio stations and streaming services globally, covering DJs and producers as well as music and playlist programmers in every country that is a United Nations member state • Secure airtime in the form of inclusion on playlists, spot plays, or plays on specialist music shows, and interviews on radio and podcasts
Your Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills. • A certificate or degree in music industry management, communications, broadcasting, public relations, or business marketing is of value, but not essential. • Experience with sales, telemarketing, communications or public relations. • Fluency in English. Several of our positions also require fluency in either Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, or Japanese. • Command of basic office technology: you are competent with Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and ready to lead calls on Microsoft Teams or Zoom. • Comfort with a fast-paced team environment and tight deadlines.
The position is a full-time contract for 3 months with option for a 2-year extension. Your working hours will depend on the time zone of the countries you are contacting.
