We’re a thriving ecommerce brand looking for an experienced French Translator to translate website and marketing content for our French website, partycity.eu.com.
This is more than just a quick translation job - we're looking to create a long-term partnership with a translator who will work closely with our brand and help guide us on what is important to consumers in the French market.
This role has the potential to be long-term over years, not months - our last French translator was with us for 3 years and our last German translator was with us for 7 years!
We are looking for someone to do approximately 22 hours per week (equivalent to 3 full days), and these hours should be within our core business working hours of 8am-5pm. This is a home-based role.
Who we are:
We sell balloons.
Except, we don’t just sell balloons.
We sell good times. We sell memories. We sell warm fuzzy feelings that stay with you forever.
Over the last 20 years we’ve become a powerhouse of party supplies, spanning 11 international ecommerce sites, 3 retail stores and over 150 staff members. Now we’re part of Amscan International, Europe’s biggest party business, and have been part of 6.5 million celebrations and counting.
The epic tale of Party Delights has been written by our staff, mostly based in our Irlam headquarters, who were chosen for their ability to bring parties to life. We know how lucky we are to play a part in some of our customers’ most special moments, and we want you to be a part of that.
Responsibilities:
• You’ll be responsible for translating and localising all products and pages on our French website, partycity.eu.com, ensuring all translations are of high quality, optimised for SEO and in line with company branding.
• You’ll conduct cultural checks to make sure that all translated content is relevant to the French market.
• Working closely with our marketing team, you’ll be responsible for translating a wide range of marketing material including website banners, email newsletters and PPC/PLA ads.
• You'll help guide us on what is important to consumers in the French market (such as conducting competitor analysis, suggesting new products and identifying important seasons and events in France that we could capitalise on)
Skills Required:
• Native French speaker with excellent spelling and grammar • Strong cultural understanding of the French market • Previous translation experience is essential (ideally in an ecommerce setting) • An understanding of SEO would be advantageous although training will be provided • You’ll have excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task and manage your own time effectively in order to meet deadlines
