Timeline: Ideally prior to 30th December we go live with a v1 of the new website (we can agree priority content that needs to be in this one) then we add the more difficult and time consuming parts in a second release by 8th January.
Creative brief: - Take our new positioning and apply this to a visual website plan – starting again from scratch really - All about bright ideas and putting brands in the spotlight. - Not sure of a mobile friendly way of doing this but we were thinking of a black and white website, where when you hover over something it lights up into colour – looking for suggestions on this?
Technical brief: - Low page load time (maybe we only show some stuff on each page and you click to load more?) / optimised for SEO (we’ll provide keywords) - To be built on wordpress and low cost to maintain - Need new hosting – ideally on TSO host which is where the domain is hosted anyway – we need someone to help with moving the hosting and handing it over to us and we’d like to make the hosting low cost - We’d like to use taxonomy to tag content with different sectors and themes and for pages to pull through the appropriate content: e.g. a page about food and drink clients would feature food and drink case studies - Obviously mobile friendly but think that’s a given these days?! - For SEO would like to ensure all current domain urls remain the same in the new site, so mapping blog posts and case studies to replicate the same url, then could apply an improve formula to new content potentially
Draft site map, subject to changes and open to ideas and feedback: 1. Menu bar, search capability, footer (including newsletter sign up form linking directly to HubSpot) and theme 2. Home page a. Scope built in for homepage takeovers of anything in particular we are pushing at that time b. Embed video at the top with button to press play – a bit like this one: https://www.stripecommunications.com c. Scrollable page, taking your recommendations but we were thinking of a section with logos of brands we’ve worked with, plus features news and featured case studies? Pulling through our Instagram feed. Plus locations and social media links at the bottom. Again like the stripe one but less scrollable as think they have too much content for load speeds?: https://www.stripecommunications.com 3. About us page – our brand story and awards, etc. 4. Case studies overall page – a bank of case studies a bit like this one: 5. Per case study page and template, including taxonomy to prioritise and tag by category 6. Meet the team page – a bit like this then per person pages too: 7. What we do page: breaking down our services and sectors 8. How we do it: integrating a google form 9. Bright Ideas. Realised. – also need a widget created that spins a wheel like a slot machine and shows a set of three random cards from 52 that we’ll provide as a PDF – we’d also like to turn this into something that’s integrated and shared on social media too, so an interactive element we can post to social channels and people can click to spin the wheel. 10. Join the team page – listing vacancies, with a template to add new ones and a generic section for when we don’t have live opportunities, when a job closes it needs to be hidden from the site but still there if someone clicks though with a message saying this role is now closed 11. Contact us page: with office addresses, a contact form that has something to prevent spam, also we need continually live chat to work throughout the whole site but that’s easy 12. Landing page template – please can we have three saved landing page templates following the format we’ll provide, so we can create a landing page really easily – one for a promotion/project, one for downloadable content and one a bit more general 13. Special project page – we’re launching a special project on 1st jan that needs its own basic page 14. Site map 15. Cookie policy 16. Privacy policy page
Content requirements – we require the freelancer to perform the following: Extract all current information from the existing wordpress site and move it over to the appropriate blog / case study / services pages (thinking there is probably a trick you can use for this rather than doing it manually!) Source a few specific elements: e.g. we will provide a list of company names for the client experience page and need you to source the appropriate, current logos for those companies Source additional images if required using rights free, free image databases
What we will provide: Updated content that is missing from the current website, e.g. new team biographies plus some additional case studies Image bank, brand guidelines, logos, videos, etc. Content tags for taxonomy (sectors and services)
