I'm a Product Manager and developer who doesn't have the bandwidth to build this particular project. I'm a design thinking professional, my strengths lie in combining creativity with user empathy. The goal of the platform is altruistic and personal to me, and I'm funding this myself.
I'm generally not a micromanager and easy to work with, and I tend to be diplomatic. That said, I have been around the block, and I do keep high standards when it comes to product and design.
What I'm looking for:
An experienced full stack developer (or team) to build off of a wireframe, designs, and set of personas, problem scenarios, user stories, and requirements I have built out. When the project starts, it will be very clear to you what you're going to be building.
The user experience is straight forward, and the concept is not complicated. This is very much an MVP, "done is better than perfect" situation, though it still needs to maintain a respectable level of design aesthetic, and it's fine if that is accomplished using an off the shelf CSS framework.
The app has two main components - first person data capture directly from users of the platform (imagine a dashboard with modules that contain grouped question sets), and then visualization of that data using something like d3 (the answers to the question sets are turned into visualizations for users to see and share).
Users will need to be authenticated with simple profiles, and I'll need to have the 'keys' to the app once it's is up and running in order to manipulate question sets as new data is discovered. I'm flexible on which frameworks to use for the front end and backend of the application so long as they're justified accordingly.
In terms of work style and timeline, this is a side project I'm managing and funding, so the timeline is generally flexible, though I don't want to drag it out any longer than a month or two. This is also very much an MVP that I want to test against a market, so I'm looking for a bare bones, but fully functional application.
It's very important to me that I work with a professional that can communicate openly and cleanly, code efficiently, and strike a balance between cost effectiveness and quality for this project.
If I find interest and traction with users when the MVP is live, then there is the possibility of more development work, iterations, maintenance etc.
I'll share more detail about the exact project after bids are made. If I think you show promise, I generally try to speak to you at least once over video chat. Also, I am generous with feedback and referrals if you do good work - I always keep quality talent in mind as I move from project to project in my career.
Happy bidding, I look forward to speaking and seeing your work.
*Please do not bid on the job if you can't/don't provide work samples up-front*
