The term, "Servant Leadership" has become something of a buzz phrase in Christian circles. Unfortunately, too often it sounds more like a marketing slogan than a genuine business practice. Does Servant Leadership mean that people engage in many of the same business practices as others, but they are simply nicer about it? What makes a servant leader different? What does it really mean to be a servant leader from a Christian perspective?
Dr. Bekker, Regent University Dean of Divinity School, had a profound effect on my own thinking about this area of leadership. He spoke to one of our leadership classes on this topic.

Drawing initially upon Dr. Bekker's presentation on Servant Leadership and Team development theory, research, organize and create a cogent presentation that illustrates and explains servant leadership in action in our contemporary world. You might use a Wiki in Blackboard to help you or you may choose another presentation software that you can create and eventually share with the whole class.
Keep your presentation clear and succinct. It should enable someone to grasp what defines and differentiates servant leadership from other forms of leadership and its defining qualities. There is plenty of scholarly research available to draw upon on this topic. Be sure to illustrate servant leadership in action, perhaps by identifying individuals or organizations that exemplify its practice.
Much of academia floats in terminology that is difficult to identify--be specific as to why someone or some organization exemplifies and practices servant leadership--do not simply declare it so.
