US e-commerce agency seeking a senior-level Shopify Engineer/Architect developer who enjoys interacting with customers to join our development team. The developer will be dealing with large, high profile clients and will be required to configure and customize solutions to meet the client's complex needs. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a willingness to provide support & lead a development team, along with strong technical knowledge across a wide variety of technologies and frameworks.

Job Description -Engineering and building Shopify public, private and custom apps -Responsible for developing and architecting Shopify websites and custom system integrations -A strong understanding of database management and performant database design is required. -Knowledgeable in security / personal data protection principles and GPDR -Extending Shopify’s functionalities to next level using storefront APIs, liquid programming, meta fields, etc. -Developing process and testing plans and troubleshooting issues related to eCommerce issues -Translate requirements and mockups into fully functioning Shopify websites using HTML/CSS/JS -Page speed optimization of Shopify sites -Implementing SEO/CRO WCAG standards and best practices in Shopify sites -Rigorously educating yourself on the latest development techniques and best practices -Clearly communicate technical solutions to team members and clients both verbally and in written documentation -Mentor and teach junior team members on all topics related to Shopify theme and app development
Qualifications -3+ Years of professional frontend & backend web development on the Shopify and Shopify Plus platforms with expert knowledge of Liquid and Shopify APIs. One or more provable Shopify certifications preferred -3+ years of provable Shopify app development experience is required including server setup and configuration on hosting solutions AWS, Digital Ocean or Heroku -3+ Years development Experience using wide variety of technologies and frameworks like (but not limited to) Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Python, Flask, React, React Native -Experience integrating with web services (REST, and GraphQL) and third-party libraries -Experience with multiple Linux distributions -A strong understanding of database management and performant database design is required. -Proficiency with PostgresQL, MongoDB & Django -Experience with authentication and authorization technologies OAuth -Experience with version control systems like GitHub -Experience with task runners, build tools, and bundlers like Gulp, Grunt, Webpack, etc.
-Expert in front-end development HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with an in-depth understanding of DOM, CSS extensions like Sass and Less. -Strong savvy in "Vanilla" Javascript including newer frameworks -Expert Experience with Shopify's theming system and Liquid templating. Expert experience with -Shopify's object/properties, AJAX API, and Meta fields. -Front end frameworks React, Shopify's Polaris, and jQuery -Experience developing for responsive layouts for a desktop, tablet, and mobile -Proven track record of leading software teams - strong technical mentorship is a must -Excellent critical thinking skills -Curiosity and passion to always learn new things -A drive for quality and technical excellence -Excellent written and oral communication skills with team members and clients -Experience working within an agile team
