I spend A LOT of time in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, and I am learning how helpful a Custom Action can be via Action Wizard.
I understand the concept (but not the language) and I have already started to make my own. BUTI need an EXPERT make it perfect. From there, if it works out, I could imagine we could make a bunch of them in the long term.
I am not sure if this is something you do? Please see my screenshot, that is what I made so far. The SCRIPT I found online for free. BUT, I still have issues with it.
Also, if you understand Custom Tools, then we could use any of the 3 (Custom Tool / Action Wizard / Java Script)
Let me know if you are interested and I can explain more!
Thanks
Todd
update:
You will see in the JavaScript, it sets up a window that adds the name of the file to the bottom of the PDF…i found this on the internet, i need 3 slight modifications:
1) can it remove “.pdf” behind it…so instead of “33977993.pdf”, i would just like it to say “33977993”
2) can it always default to a few things:
- helvetica-boldoblique font
- size 8
- position Center & Bottom (Margin 0.05)
3) most importantly, i don’t want to have to click it each time it goes to a new file, so if i have 100 PDFs the script it working on, then I have to click APPLY 100 times

When it is finished, I am hoping you can make 2 versions of this:
1) one that takes all of the new files from the OUTPUT folder, and combines them into 1 Binder
2) one version that automatically prints the job after each PDF it applies to…so yes, if it applied the script to 100 PDFs, then 100 times it would run, and process print, and go to the next one (*the person would have to leave their computer of course*)
Let me know if you have any questions…you can use any type of script or action..as long as I can export it back to me, that is all that matters!
