The purpose of the Language App should be designed to teach spoken, communicative and literal skills to new and progressive learners of the main languages which are generally spoken and used in Africa. The APP should have the audio functions for pronunciations and annunciation which also provide syntax and context. The APP should have an animation which provides the oral and aural interactive function The APP should allow for progressive reward and promotion through the language development which the learners experience through interacting with the app. The languages to be incorporated should be as follows: English (Main search and interactive language) French (Secondary search and interactive language) Amharic (optional search and interactive language) Arabic (optional search and interactive language) Bemba Chewa chiShona Hausa Igbo isiXhosa isiZulu isiNdebele Lingala Ndebele Nyanja Portuguese Swahili Tswana Yoruba There should be multilevel language packages based on a successful graduation. Objectives Of the App 1. To teach the basic to the conversational vocabulary of African Languages 2. To teach basic and intermediate conversational skills of African languages as specified below 3. To provide both knowledge and fluency for FLL (Foreign Language Learners) and SLL (Second Language Learners 4. To provide culturally appropriate interactive expression Target Audience 7+years old Africans in the diaspora who desire to engage with their heritage and increase their fluency Africans on the continent who desire to expand their communication skills across African Cultures New Global learners who wish to learn African languages and develop a relevant appreciation of African Cultures The Uniqueness Of The App The uniqueness of the AFRICAN LANGUAGE LEARNING APP lies in the fact that it is designed for people to learn African Languages from an African perspective. 1. The animation would be based on the different ethnicities of the African People. 2. The languages would also articulate the cultural nuances which are unique to the different people groups.
