You’ll be installing and configuring Linux servers along with supporting and optimising Centos web servers in a load balanced setup.
Alongside this, you’ll be monitoring and maintaining the web servers implementing recommendations for performance and security. With this in mind, we are looking for at least 2 years experience in Unix administration.
Services In Use: - Unison - used to sync file changes from web1 to web2 servers using SSH key authentication and rsync - PHP-FPM 7.0 would like to be able to upgrade to PHP 7.4 ASAP - Typically hosting WordPress websites using scripts on the load balancer to setup the sites, users, home directories and LetsEncrypt SSL certificates - Centos 7 VPS servers managed through Linode
Who are we looking for: You’ll be communicating to the managing director or other members of the team over Slack.
We need someone who can manage, monitor, upgrade and resolve issues so you’ll need proven knowledge of SMTP protocols, mail routing, TCP/IP, routing, networking and load balancer configuration with NGINX, along with an understanding of TLS, HTTPS and SSH.
You’ll be troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnose and solve software faults along with supporting roll-out of new websites.
The chosen candidate would ideally have advanced scripting skills like: Perl, Python, Bash, PHP as well as experience with deployment automation tools (Ansible prefered).
