GadgetHacks.com needs a full-stack web developer to build and fix various RSS feeds for different syndication needs. Please only apply if you would also like to work on future projects for GadgetHacks.com.
► THIS RSS PROJECT:
Our stack is C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and jQuery. For this RSS project, some feeds will also need ad links, JWPlayer embeds, Google Analytics script for tracking, recommended stories back to our site, etc.
We need one RSS feed that follows SmartFormat Specification (Version 2.1) for SmartNews publishers. More info is available at https://publishers.smartnews.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036526213.
We also need our current RSS feeds for Apple News updated. Currently, images are not displaying correctly on Apple News, and we may want to show full text instead of previews. More info on Apple News Format is available at https://developer.apple.com/apple-news/resources.
We may have other RSS feeds to make/fix, but those are the main ones.
► REQUIREMENTS:
☑︎ Has worked in various custom ASP.NET MVC code bases.
☑︎ Has parsed and built XML in C#.
☑︎ Has created custom RSS feeds for websites before.
☑︎ Has experience in all of the below:
