As the title says, I'm looking for a custom plugin for my crochet website.
I would like a settings toggle menu on my website, that sits at the top of a blog post, under the site header and the post’s title, that can alter some text when the toggle is active and flip images/embedded videos. I would like to be able to hide this toggle on certain pages such as shop pages where they won't need the toggle.
To give you some background information, with crochet there are two terminology languages: US and UK terms. Both languages yield the same results from their instructions but they just use different terms to explain what to do.
I want to cater to both learners by having a toggle where they can adjust the language displayed.
So, for example, in UK terms there's something called a 'double crochet' but in US terms this is a 'single crochet'. I want the toggle to find 'double crochet' in the article and change it to 'single crochet' or vice versa.
But crochet is a little complicated where the two terminologies sometimes share the same phrases but they mean different instructions so I need the toggle to come with an 'ignore' phrase that I can wrap around text in the WP text editor so regardless of the toggle it will always show the original written text (I hope that makes sense).
I also want to help right-handed crocheters and left-handed crocheters by having a toggle that flips the images in the article horizontally. By this I mean, if the photo is showing someone holding something in their right hand, the reverse image will be flipped horizontally and it will look like they’re holding it in their left hand.
If possible, I want to swap out embedded videos when the toggle is active. It will function like the photos so that the user can watch the reversed video. The video will swap out with another prepared video that’s already uploaded in the WP media files.
Similarly, to the text, the ‘ignore toggle’ phrase should be able to wrap around photos or videos and it should ignore the
To summarise, here's what I'm looking for the plugin to include: - There’s a backend where I can add sitewide phrases to the toggle list and what they should translate to when that toggle is active; - An article-specific backend section for the video so I can specify what new video file it should change out with; - A toggle that reverses images; - A toggle that changes out an embedded video in the article for another one I have uploaded in the WP media files; - A toggle menu box that appears on the front end of the article where the user can adjust what changes they want such as just the translations, to flip the images or flip the video as three separate toggles; - An ‘ignore toggle’ keyword that I can wrap around text/images/videos in the Wordpress text editor so it’s unaffected by the toggle changes but I don't want this ignore keyword to appear in the article; - Automatic changes so the user doesn’t refresh the page when they apply these changes.
