I need someone to build a new wordpress site, copying my existing design and building it in an existing theme I have picked.
I have a wordpress blog (https://www.temporary-url.com/80BA59) which is based on a discontinued theme. This means some of the backend doesn’t work and I am prevented from updating many of the plugins and core. The site also has a number of add-ons I’ve created over the years which I don’t need on my site, and are slowing it down.
Therefore, I wish to have a new WP install, new theme and transfer over only the pages, posts and tables (via TablePress plugin). The new theme then needs to be tweaked to match the original design as closely as possible. The design doesn’t have to be identical so I’m only talking about changing the styling options and setting in the new theme, not editing the code.
The site is hosted on WP Engine, where we can install a development install to build the new version and then transfer it only once ready. The new theme is called Magazine, part of Themify’s Ultra theme (https://themify.me/themes/ultra). It’s mostly drag and drop and there are tutorials and documentation online about the options.
I have a mailing list sign-up box at the top of the page which needs to be re-created. It uses Active Campaign. This is probably the thing which is most advanced of this job.
I don’t need a new theme designed from scratch (just tweaking existing theme to match the existing look) and only the mailing list should need any coding (with the rest just being a combinations of settings and styling).
On the face of it, this is a straight-forward job – i.e. move content, tweak theme settings to match the design and re-build mailing list box. However, I am aware that sometimes unexpected problem happen and that an experienced Wordpress expert will make the whole process smoother.
Please apply by explaining how long you think it will take and how much it will cost. Please include the line “I read the whole brief” at the very top. In the past I have found that people just reply on reflex and I’m keen to know what we both understand the job before it starts. Any application without this line will be ignored.
